What is Kindred Connection?
Kindred Connection Network, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) collaborative network of trusted perinatal professionals in the Rochester area. We bring together providers from many disciplines, including mental health, wellness, education, and birth work, to support families through every stage of the parenting journey.
What kinds of services are included?
While we include many licensed mental health professionals, Kindred Connection is a community of diverse providers. You’ll also find doulas, lactation support, pelvic floor physical therapists, dietitians, speech and feeding specialists, educators, yoga therapists, and others who specialize in perinatal support.
Is Kindred Connection a clinic or group practice?
No. Kindred Connection is not a clinic or group practice. We serve as a trusted directory that helps you find the providers who best meet your needs. Each professional manages their own practice and services.
How much do services cost?
Each provider sets their own rates and policies. Profiles list insurance and payment details when providers share them. We recommend reaching out to a provider directly to learn more about pricing, insurance, and payment options.
Can I trust the professionals listed here?
All professionals listed with Kindred Connection are independently licensed or certified in their fields and share our commitment to inclusivity, education, advocacy, and informed choice.
Is Kindred Connection free to use?
Yes. There is no cost to browse the directory or connect with providers. Kindred Connection is a free resource for families seeking support.
I’m overwhelmed and don’t know what I need.
You’re not alone, and that’s exactly why Kindred Connection exists. Start with the life stage that feels closest on our provider directory, or reach out to one provider you feel drawn to. Many of our professionals can help guide you to additional support. You can also try mental health matching.
What does “accepting new clients” mean on a profile?
Providers tell us when they have openings, and they keep that status up to date themselves. Providers without the label may still have availability, so it’s always worth reaching out.
What if I need help right now?
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. For perinatal mental health support that isn’t an emergency, you can reach the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 1-800-944-4773, or text “Help” to 800-944-4773.
