Kindred Connection is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor disabilities. Many people come to us during exhausting seasons of life, and finding support should be simple for all of them.
Our Standard
kindredconnection.org strives to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Some content may not yet fully meet every standard, and we are actively working to find and fix gaps.
What We Do
- Every page, menu, form, and directory filter works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Text and controls meet WCAG color contrast requirements, and body text is set at a comfortable 18 pixels.
- Pages use clear headings, landmarks, and descriptive links so screen readers can move through them easily.
- Meaningful images have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Every form field has a label, and errors are listed at the top of the form and next to each field.
- Layouts adapt to phones, tablets, and zoom up to 400 percent without losing content.
- Motion is kept to a minimum and respects your device’s reduced motion setting.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our site aims to work with screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver), screen magnification software, speech recognition software, and keyboard-only navigation, in current versions of major browsers.
Known Limitations
- Provider websites, booking pages, and payment pages hosted by other companies are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
- Some older flyers and documents may not be fully accessible. Ask us and we’ll provide the information in another format.
